Scarlett Johansson is the Highest Paid Actress in Hollywood

Scarlett Johansson has dethroned Emma Stone as the highest paid actress in Hollywood.

Johansson is officially the 2018 top-earning female actress claiming the top spot on Forbes’ list of the world’s highest-paid actresses. Earning $40.5 million in 2018 (from June 1, 2017, to June 1, 2018), the 33-year-old actress quadrupled her 2017 earnings and nearly doubled Stone’s top mark of $26 million last year. This is largely due to her portrayal of the Marvel character, Black Widow and her participation in the Avengers film. Johansson is set to return as Black Widow for the 2019 sequel to this year’s Avengers: Infinity War, and will also star in a standalone feature.

Coming in at no. 2 is Angelina Jolie with $28 million (Maleficent 2) with Jennifer Aniston following with $19.5 million (endorsement profits from Emirates airlines, Smartwater, and Aveeno). Jennifer Lawrence (X-Men: Dark Phoenix) landed the fourth spot with $18 million and rounding out the opening five is Reese Witherspoon with $16.5 million.

Also featured on the top list are Mila Kunis ($16 million), Julia Roberts ($13 million), Cate Blanchett ($12.5 million) and Melissa McCarthy ($12 million) claiming spots six to nine and newcomer Gal Gadot claiming No. 10 with $10 million.

Emma Stone, who helmed the list last year starring with her Oscar-winning performance in La La Land, is notably absent from the list.
