AMC and Channel 4 gave us one of the most intriguing and underrated sci-fi shows with Humans, but all good things must come to an end. After three seasons on the air, they made a difficult decision to cancel the critically acclaimed drama.
This show takes place in a dystopian future, where many families own highly-developed robotic servants known as “’Synths”, who are transforming their daily lives. Gemma Chan got her big break thanks to this show and went on to become an international star after being cast in Crazy Rich Asians.
Writer and executive producer Sam Vincent shared the news in a moving statement that he posted on Twitter. He thanked everyone who was involved in the making of this brilliant show and said they wouldn’t get these three seasons if it wasn’t for their talent and dedication.
“Sadly, there won’t be a fourth season of Humans. In this age of unprecedented choice and competition, we can have no complaints. Channel 4 and AMC were the perfect partners. They supported the show brilliantly and above all – let us make three seasons,” wrote Vincent.
