John C. McGinley has joined the cast of Chicago P.D. for season 6 arc.
McGinley, who is best known for his role as Dr. Perry Cox on Scrubsת has been tapped to star on the NBC police drama. According to Entertainment Tonight, McGinley has landed a recurring role and will first appear in the 11th episode, “Trust,” which airs January 16.
According to the outlet, McGinley will play Brian Kelton, a police superintendent who is running for mayor of Chicago with a pro-police platform. Kelton supports Voight’s unit and his tough-on-crime tactics, but a case with political ties will put them at odds.
