Season 2 of “The Night Manager” is in the Process

The Night Manager is back on duty.

BBC has reportedly ordered a second season of the series based upon the John le Carré novel.

Season one starred Tom Hiddleston as the titular night manager who is recruited as an intelligence operative to investigate an arms dealer played by Hugh Laurie.

The series proved to be a hit both publicly and critically, earning Golden Globes for Tom, Hugh, and Olivia Coleman.

Scripts are in the process of being written, with screenwriter, Charles Cumming, telling The Daily Mail, “Le Carré has never allowed one of his stories to have a [film or TV] sequel that is not based on a novel. So our job is to write a season that’s going to be even better than the first one, but also stay faithful to the tone of the world that was created by le Carré and to the characters.”

Secrecy remains rife, with Cumming warning that “some characters that the audience know and love will be returning, others will not.”

We’ll be waiting for our wake-up call.
