Season 5 of “Lucifer” Will Be Its Last

After Fox decided to cancel Lucifer, Netflix agreed to pick it up and breathe new life into this show, but they’re now pulling the plug. The streaming giant has renewed this series for its fifth and final season.

Netflix announced the cancellation of the show in an official statement, and, at the same time, promised an epic conclusion that’s worth the wait.

“We’re thrilled that Lucifer fans around the world have embraced this series on Netflix, and we can’t wait to give them the big finish they’ve all been waiting for,” reads the statement by the popular streaming service.

Lucifer follows the adventures of the Lord of Hell Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis), who decides to resign his throne out of boredom and spend some time on Earth in the hope he’ll get a better understanding of humanity.

This series premiered on Fox in 2016, and after the network decided to end its run three years later, Netflix agreed to pick it up. The fifth and final season is expected to premiere sometime next year.
