2020 will apparently be the year of Cèline Dion, since we’re getting not one, but two biopics based on her life. Canadian singer will serve as inspiration for the upcoming movie Cèline Before Celine.
Unlike the semi-fictional take on Dion’s life The Power of Love, this newly announced biopic will take a more grounded approach. It will cover Dion’s upbringing and life before global stardom.
Director Marc-Andre Lavoie already got a green light from Dion’s family, and the singer herself, who said he managed to seize the essence of a period that is very dear to her heart with his script. Lavoie had nothing but words of praise for Dion and he can’t wait to explore her incredible journey on the big screen.
“In my entire career, I’ve never met someone as kind, warm and authentic as Celine, and we’ll be forever grateful that she believes so strongly in our team to tell the real story has it’s never been told before,” said Lavoie.
