See the First Image of The Crown’s New Queen Olivia Colman

Now that’s the first-look image we’ve all been waiting for!

Fans finally get to see what their Queen looks like in the next season of Netflix’s hit show, The Crown.

The streaming giant released the first official look at Olivia Colman who will star as Queen Elizabeth II in season three, taking over from Claire Foy who played the monarch in the first two seasons of the royal drama.

The image was shared Monday on The Crown’s official Twitter account. The photo of Colman clad in a pink suit and pearls, with coifed hair and a cup of tea, was captioned with, “Patience.”

In a statement following the official announcement of her casting, Colman said, “I’m so thrilled to be part of The Crown, I was utterly gripped watching it, a proper ‘just one more’ feeling. I think Claire Foy is an absolute genius, she’s an incredibly hard act to follow, I’m basically going to rewatch every episode and copy her!”

Colman will star alongside Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret, Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip, Jason Watkins as Prime Minister Harold Wilson and Ben Daniels as Antony Armstrong-Jones, as part of the creative decision to represent the royal’s ages as the show progresses in time.

The Crown season three will premiere in 2019.
