According to Time Sports, Shaquille O’Neal has announced his plans to run for sheriff in 2020.
Shaq has a history of support for law enforcement and has already been sworn in as an honorary sheriff’s deputy in Georgia. It’s still unclear if he would run in Georgia or in Florida, as he has residency in both states.
Shaq explained his reasons for running:
“This is about bringing people closer together. When I was coming up, people had a lot of respect for the police, the deputies, and I want to be the one bringing that back.”
