“Shrill” Renewed for Season 3

Aidy Bryant in "Shrill"

Hulu has renewed Shrill for a third season.

Multiple outlets confirm that the streaming service has ordered an additional eight-episodes season of the praised comedy series, the same as the second season. The first season of the series was just six episodes.

The series is based on the book Shrill: Notes from a Loud Woman by Lindy West. West co-created the TV adaptation along with Aidy Bryant and Ali Rushfield.

Shrill follows Annie (Bryant), “an overweight young woman who wants to change her life — but not her body. Annie is trying to make it as a journalist while juggling bad boyfriends, sick parents, and a perfectionist boss, while the world around her deems her not good enough because of her weight.”

News of the renewal comes two months after the launch of season 2.
