Big news for Ghostbusters fans!
Sigourney Weaver has confirmed that she in on board the nextGhostbusters feature set to arrive in theaters next summer.
The actress will reprise her role as cellist Dana Barrett, starring opposite Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd.
“It’s going to be crazy working with the guys again!” Weaver told Parade magazine.
Some say that the castings are no surprise at all as Jason Retiman, the sequel’s director teased it saying “this one is for the fans.” He added that the sequel “is the next chapter in the original franchise. It is not a reboot. What happened in the ’80s happened in the ’80s, and this is set in the present day.”
Jason, son of original director Ivan Reitman will direct from his own script co-written with Gil Kenan. Ghostbusters 3 is slated for a July 2020 release.
