Netflix really kept us waiting for the second season of their hit series Squid Game, but the wait will soon be over! The streaming giant recently announced that the hit South Korean drama will officially return for its highly-anticipated second season later this year.

The amazing news was shared in Netflix’s recent letter to investors, which stated, “Looking ahead, despite last year’s strikes pushing back the launch of some titles, we have a big, bold slate for 2024.” They singled out Squid Game as one of the shows set to return this year, along with The Diplomat and Bridgerton.

The first season of Squid Game centered on a group of people taking part in a series of children’s games with deadly consequences for a chance to win a cash prize that could change their lives. It went on to become Netflix’s most-watched series to this date, with 1.65 billion viewing hours and 111 million accounts reached in the first 28 days alone.

Season 2 will feature several returning cast members, including Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-Hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo. They’ll be joined by many newcomers to this twisted world, starting with Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-Neul, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, and Yim Si-wan.
