The first trailer for Bradley Cooper’s directorial debut is finally here.
The musical remake is not only Cooper’s first feature film as director, it also stars Lady Gaga in her first significant film acting role.
The trailer hit social media Wednesday via the A Star Is Born official Twitter account.
In the fourth remake of A Star Is Born Cooper plays a very established country star named Jackson Maine. The preview shows Jackson meeting Ally played by Lady Gaga, a struggling artist who is scared to perform her own music rather than sing other’s. Enter Maine who encourages her to get up on stage and show off her voice.
The sneak peek also reveals that Cooper is quite a capable singer. He took to the stage at Glastonbury in 2017 to film the live performance scenes for the film.
Just after the trailer dropped, Lady Gaga took to social media to share her experience of making the movie.
“It’s a dream come true and an honor to be a part of this incredible movie. Bradley Cooper’s ability as a director, actor, and musician is astounding. I can’t wait for people to see this authentic, epic, beautiful love story. It’s called ‘A Star Is Born,’ and I’m beyond thrilled for you to meet Jack and Ally.”
A Star is Born is scheduled to hit theaters on October 5.
