Stephen Amell returned as Oliver Queen on several episodes of The Flash over the years and he’s getting ready to do it again, one last time. The ninth and final season of the beloved superhero show is underway and Amell will reprise his Arrow role that started it all.

When Arrow premiered in 2012, it was the first Arrowverse show and its success spawned several successful spin-offs over the years. Amell reprised his role as Oliver Queen on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, and Batwoman, in addition to appearing on several episodes of The Flash.

Given the role that he played in the formation of the Arrowverse and the fact that Grant Gustin played Barry Allen on Arrow before getting his standalone show, it felt fitting to bring Amell back.

“Everyone on Team Flash felt so strongly that it was important to create a full-circle moment with Oliver’s return in the final season of The Flash. We absolutely cannot wait for everyone to see Grant and Stephen saving the world together again,” said the show’s executive producer Eric Wallace.

The Flash is one of the very few Arrowverse shows that the CW has in store following the cancelation of Legends of Tomorrow and Batswoman last year. Its ninth and final season will feature a total of 13 episodes and it will premiere on February 8.
