Steve Carell Joins Star-Studded Cast of Apple’s Morning Show Series

Fans of The Office spent the last few years hoping for Steve Carell’s TV comeback and their prayers have finally been answered. The comedy star landed the lead male role in Apple’s upcoming series set in the dynamic world of morning shows.

Carell will star alongside Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, who’ve been cast as the female leads in this untitled project long before he jumped on board. Steve Carell has been cast as morning show anchor Mitch Kessler, who’ struggling to stay relevant in a changing media landscape. The names of the female characters played by Witherspoon and Aniston are yet to be released.

Two-time Emmy winner Mimi Leder will be in charge of directing this intriguing project. Her previous credits include ER, Shameless, The Leftovers and the upcoming Ruth Bader Ginsburg biopic On the Basis of Sex.
