“Superstore” is coming back for another season

The announcement of a renewal comes in the middle of the series’ 22-episode third season. Jennifer Salke, President of NBC Entertainment, commented on the renewal in a statement saying that “Superstore is one of our signature NBC comedies, and we’re so pleased to be bringing it back for the 2018-19 season.”

Superstore follows Amy (America Ferrera, who is also a producer), and a gang of employees of the “Cloud 9” superstore number 1217. The series was created by Justin Spitzer, who also serves as an executive producer. Additional cast members are Lauren Ash, Colton Dunn, Nico Santos, Nicole Bloom and Mark McKinney.

“This clever comedy, featuring America Ferrera, Ben Feldman, and an incredibly talented ensemble cast, is a source of pride for the comedy team at NBC and I’m personally gratified that it has connected with audiences and critics alike,” added Tracey Pakosta, Co-President, Scripted Programming, NBC Entertainment.

In its third season, Superstore has been averaging 5.2 million total viewers and a 1.7 in the 18-49 demographic. It will return from its Olympics hiatus on March 1.
