Patrick Swayze’s leather jacket from the movie Dirty Dancing was sold on the auction for $62,500. It was just one of the hundreds of items in an L.A. auction. His widow Lisa Niemi “had mixed feelings” about selling his stuff.

Another family member, Swayze’s niece Danielle, specifically wanted the auction to be canceled. She preferred her late uncle’s belongings staying in the family. She called the auction “a slap in the face”.

1,500 people supported Danielle’s online petition, but the auction was still held. Swayze was 57 when he passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2009 and some of the profit from the sale will go to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
