Due to the 2018 Winter Olympics being broadcast on NBC, Jimmy Fallon, the host of The Tonight Show, decided to create a five-minute segment called Fallon FiveFallon Five is a shortened five-minute version of his nightly program which includes an opening monologue, interviews with celebrities and a closing.

On Monday, Fallon had Paul Rudd on the show as his first celebrity guest. Before Rudd came on the show, Fallon talked about the highlights of the week including some memorable moments of the Winter Olympics and The 2018 NBA All-Star Game.

Fallon explained that “[Yesterday was] day 11 of the Winter Olympics, but it [was] day 12 of Fergie’s National Anthem,” referencing to Fergie’s sexy and sultry cover of the American National Anthem. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fallon also made fun of German figure skater Paul Fence, who skated to music from the popular television series Game of Thrones.

Afterwards, Fallon introduced “the first ever The Tonight Show’s one minute interview” with Paul Rudd. Rudd went on the show to promote his new film, Mute (2018) which premieres on Netflix on February 23rd, 2018. The five-minute segment ended with Fallon and Rudd singing “Shout” by The Isley Brothers.

The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon returns on NBC on February 26.
