The 2019 Oscars are about to get a lot more interesting. It was recently announced that the Best Picture nominees at the 91st Academy Awards ceremony will each have their own presenter.

The list of presenters features 11 high-profile personalities including Barbra Streisand, Queen Latifah, and Serena Williams. The trio will also be joined by Chef Jose Andres, Dana Carvey, Congressman John Lewis, Diego Luna, Tom Morello, Mike Myers, Trevor Noah, and Amandla Stenberg.

While the pairing of presenters and movies is still left to be revealed, we already have a good idea about some of them. It is expected that Streisand will be the one to present A Star Is Born since she starred in the 1976’s version of the movie. Also, since Myers acted in Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, he will probably present the movie alongside Carvey. The two previously co-starred in Wayne’s World which featured an iconic scene revolving around the song “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Other Best Picture nominees are Black Panther, BlacKkKlansman, The Favourite, Green Book, Roma, and Vice.

“Movies connect us all,” said 2019 Oscars producers Donna Gigliotti and Glenn Weiss. “They move us, and they create moments and memories that unite us. We are thrilled to assemble this well-known array of film lovers to introduce and share their reflections on the Best Picture-nominated movies.”

The 91st Academy Awards will feature a special performance by two-time Best Actress nominee, Bette Midler.

Multiple outlets confirm that Midler will sing “The Place Where Lost Things Go” from Mary Poppins Returns at this year’s Oscars. The song and its composer, Marc Shaiman, are nominated for best original song alongside “All the Stars” from Black Panther, “I’ll Fight” from RGB, “Shallow” from A Star Is Born and “When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs for Wings” from The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.

Midler took to Twitter Saturday to announce the news. She was immediately retweeted by the Academy.

“So, (drum roll) Ladies and Gentlemen, I will be chanteusing (that’s singing) on the Oscars on Feb 24…the nominated song from “Mary Poppins”…”The Place Where Lost Things Go” …so excited!!” she wrote.

“As a child of the ’60s, I grew up obsessed with the Mary Poppins soundtrack, learning everything about songwriting and film scoring from it,” Shaiman, who is expected to accompany Midler on piano wrote on Facebook. “As a teenager in the ’70s, I became obsessed with new star Bette Midler, who fate amazingly led me to, resulting in our 40-year relationship. Could I have ever imagined that one day Bette Midler would sing a song I co-wrote with Scott Wittman for a sequel to Mary Poppins at the Academy Awards?! My heart is exploding.”

The song was originally performed by Emily Blunt in Mary Poppins Returns.

The Oscars will be held on February 24 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

A couple of days after he was announced as the host of the 2019 Oscars, Kevin Hart steps down from hosting this year’s Academy Awards.

Multiple outlets report that the comedian has decided to step down from the hosting gig following an outcry over his homophobic and transphobic comments. Following the announcement that Hart has been set as the night’s host, decade-old offensive tweets resurfaced and with them a demand that he steps down as host.

After the comedian took to Instagram Tuesday to announce that he had been selected to host the 2019 Academy Awards for the first time, he took to Twitter Thursday to announce his decision.

“I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscar’s,” Hart wrote. He continued with an apology to the LGBTQ community, “This is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists. I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past.”

He added, “I’m sorry that I hurt people,” he continued in a following tweet. “I am evolving and want to continue to do so. My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart.  Much love & appreciation to the Academy.  I hope we can meet again.”

The 39-year-old’s apology came after earlier that day he would not apologize for the comments, despite being given an ultimatum by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Kevin Hart is getting ready to fulfill his lifelong dream! The popular comedian will be the one making us laugh come Oscar night as he just landed hosting gig at this prestigious show.

The Night School actor announced the amazing news on his Instagram and Twitter accounts. He made it clear he’s extremely honored to follow in the footsteps Jimmy Kimmel and Chris Rock, who hosted the ceremony before him.

“For years I have been asked if I would ever host the Oscars and my answer was always the same. I said that it would be an opportunity of a lifetime for me as a comedian and that it would happen when it’s supposed to. I am so happy to say the day has finally come for me to host the Oscars,” wrote Hart on Instagram.

The academy is trying to switch things up at this year’s ceremony, introducing a couple of changes in the format. For the first time ever, some of the lower-profile awards won’t be presented during the broadcast. The Academy also toyed with the idea of introducing the Best Popular Film category, but they discarded this idea since it wasn’t met with the enthusiasm they expected.

The 91st Oscars will be held on February 24, but we’ll have to wait until January 22 for the Academy to officially unveil the list of nominees.

The 91st Academy Awards could feature a real-life A Star is Born duet.

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper stars of A Star Is Born have teased that they could possibly perform the feature’s signature tune, ‘Shallow’ at next year’s Oscars.

The Cooper helmed A Star is Born is the fourth on-screen adaptation of the musical romance between budding singer named Ally (Gaga) and a fading country singer, Jackson Maine (Cooper).

Traditionally, all five songs nominated for Best Original Song are performed live on the Academy Awards broadcast, which means fans could be treated to a real-life duet performed if the film is nominated for Best Original Song.

in her Variety cover story, Gaga vowed that the two will take the stage at the awards show if nominated, “One hundred percent.”

“We talked about that actually, because I’m such a maniac,” Cooper added. “I started texting her [Gaga] the whole pitch of how we should do it. So we’ll see. There might be a cool, unorthodox way we could perform it.”

‘Shallow’ was co-written by Gaga, Andrew Wyatt, Anthony Rossomando, and Gaga’s Joanne executive producer Mark Ronson.
