According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Pacific Rim star would play Martine Bancroft, who in the comics was engaged to Dr. Michael Morbius a scientist who suffered from a rare blood disease and turned himself into a living vampire while seeking a cure.
Daniel Espinosa is directing the Spider-Man Universe spinoff based on Marvel Comics’ antihero Morbius the Living Vampire. Dr. Michael Morbius first debuted in the 1970s The Amazing Spider-Man #101 issue. The renowned biochemist was created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane.
Espinosa is directing from a script written by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama, the duo behind Netflix’s Lost in Space remake. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are set to produce with Lucas Foster.
