Cape Fear will mark Adams’ first TV role since the acclaimed HBO mini-series Sharp Objects, which earned her nominations for a Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy Award. She also earned six Oscar nods for her roles in Junebug, Doubt, The Fighter, The Master, American Hustle, and Vice, while also starring in hit films Enchanted, Arrival, and Man of Steel. ]]>Vice promises to tell the untold story behind the most powerful vice president in American history, and how his policies changed the world as we know it.
Christian Bale gained 40 pounds to play Cheney and claimed he ate a lot of pies to achieve this goal. He also worked hard to nail his mannerisms and accent. Bale did a lot of research to learn more about his policies so he could easily improvise at any given moment. This isn’t the first time Bale pushed his body to the limits and completely immersed in the character. That’s why Adam McKay knew he was the right person for the job even before he hired him.
“What Christian Bale really does is he psychologically breaks someone apart and puts them back together again. I’ve never seen someone work so hard. It is hard on him, but really amazing to watch,” explained McKay, who previously directed Bale in The Big Short.
Vice also stars Sam Rockwell as George W. Bush, Amy Adams as Lynne Cheney and Steve as Donald Rumsfeld. It’s scheduled to be released on December 25, in the peak of the awards season.
