DNA marks the group’s return to form and it already helped them secure some of the best reviews of their career after hitting the shelves on January 23. The band also scored one Grammy nod thanks to the lead single “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” – their first nomination in over 15 years.

The band’s ninth studio album features a total of 12 tracks, and it helped Backstreet Boys return to the top because they weren’t scared to try new things. Kevin Richardson explained they experimented with several different genres while recording these songs – including rap, R&B, country, rock, pop and gospel.

“DNA will feature tracks that are acoustically driven, piano-driven, songs that have an R&B vibe, and some that are influenced heavily by the EDM movement. But we did it all in a Backstreet way with our harmonies,” explained Richardson.

Backstreet Boys will promote the album with their most expensive tour to date, which will kick off on May 11 in Lisbon, Portufal.

The long awaited released of a new single comes five years after the release of their last album In a World Like This. 

This time the group got personal, singing about heartbreak, a staple in many pop songs, But the group knew that they came up with something special this time. 

“The minute we heard this song we knew it was special,” Kevin Richardson said in a statement. “I geeked out over the piano and synths. When that groove drops on the second verse, COME ON. Great verse, hook and melodies. Just makes you wanna listen over and over again.” Bandmate Howie Dorough added, “It had that wow factor from the demo through to its final recording.”

The group has just celebrated their 25th anniversary and have been working on their Backstreet Boys: Larger Than Life Las Vegas residency as well as a new studio album, which will be their 10th. 

Their new album is set to drop this year.
