The release of the tracks Friday follows a teaser Hawke dropped earlier in the week, sharing snippets of one of the songs on Instagram. She also took the opportunity to announce a performance at the Sultan Room in Williamsburg on August 21.

The Stranger Things star joins her co-stars, Joe Keery, Charlie Heaton, Gaten Matarazzo, and Finn Wolfhard, who have all ventured into the music scene. 

The two singles, “To Love a Boy” and “Stay Open,” were written by Hawke while Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Jesse Harris, best known for working with Norah Jones, wrote the music. The tracks feature Hawke’s vocals paired with “some soft guitar strumming and a number of pared-down instruments.”

Hawke most recently starred in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
