The first trailer for Despicable Me 4 sees Gru and his family going on the run after a new villain emerges, putting their future in jeopardy.

Despicable Me 4 will see Gru return for an exciting, bold new era of Minions mayhem, and here’s what it has in store according to Illumination’s official logline:

“Gru and Lucy and their girls – Margo, Edith, and Agnes – welcome a new member to the Gru family, Gru Jr., who is intent on tormenting his dad. Gru faces a new nemesis in Maxime Le Mal and his femme fatale girlfriend Valentina, and the family is forced to go on the run.”

Steve Carell leads the voice cast as Gru, and he’ll be reunited with Kristen Wiig, Steve Coogan, Miranda Cosgrove, Dana Gaie, and Pierre Coffin, as the voice of the Minions. Will Ferrell and Sofia Vergara are joining the ensemble as the main villains.

The voice cast will feature several more newcomers to the Despicable Me universe, including Joey King, Stephen Colbert, Chloe Fineman, and Madison Polan.

Despicable Me 4 will be released by Universal Pictures on July 3.
