]]>The wait is finally over as on Sunday Glover officially released the album 3.15.20 onto streaming services.
3.15.20 is under the names Donald Glover and his alter-ego Childish Gambino and the album’s sequence is the same as it was on his streaming website, but it starts with what was assumed to be track 6.
We mentioned in an article last week that the album features Ariana Grande, 21 Savage, and Khadja Bonet.
Only two of the tracks have titles, “Algorhythm” and “Time,” and the rest of the songs are the times of their point in the sequence like a YouTube video. The album also has no official artwork, but Glover posed in a domestic scene with his two sons who are wearing Spiderman mask for a press photo for 3.15.20.

]]>Sunday morning Glover released a surprise album titled Donald Glover Presents on his website featuring Ariana Grande, 21 Savage, and SZA.
The 12-track album isn’t available for streaming services, but it can be listed on the singer’s website. The website has a four-panel illustration reminiscent of Glover’s video for his 2018 Grammy-winning song This Is America—there’s a crowd of people in the middle of a riot with some people panicked while other seem excited.
After the release of his last album Awaken, My Love! in 2016, Glover said it would be his final one under his alter-ego, Childish Gambino. Since 2005, Glover has released three full-length albums and several mixtapes as Childish Gambino.
Although there’s been no official song title list revealed, the presumed tracklist includes:
Update: 12 hours after the album was dropped online, it’s been removed from the website. As of now, there’s no further information available, but we’re hopeful Donald Glover Presents will be released soon.

]]>The trailer is the first footage of Glover AKA Childish Gambino and the singer’s upcoming film project. The feature is reportedly called Guava Island and according to reports that emerged earlier this year, filming took place in Cuba. According to Variety, the feature is directed by Glover’s longtime collaborator Hiro Murai.
The trailer premiered at Glover’s PHAROS Festival in New Zealand this weekend and all there is of the global debut is fan footage of the trailer, below. The video feature Glover and Rhianna in what seems like an idyllic setting, and sees Glover’s character lament, “We live in paradise but none of us actually have the time or the means to live here.”
The film also stars Letitia Wright and Nonso Anozie.

]]>The short clip doesn’t reveal much, but it’s still giving us all the feels, since it’s the perfect homage to the original. It features several epic moments, including the legendary scene of Rafiki introducing baby Simba to the kingdom on Pride Rock.
Nostalgia will overtake you as soon as you hear James Earl Jones repeating his iconic quote “Everything the light touches is our kingdom. But a king’s time as ruler rises and falls like the sun.” and stay with you long after the teaser is over.
Jones is the only actor from the original version of The Lion King who’s part of the new cast. Donald Glover, Beyoncé, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, and Chiwetel Ejiofor will be in charge of voicing some of our favorite character in this promising remake.
Hans Zimmer and Elton John will also return to their respective roles as composer and songwriter. Jon Favreau, who previously directed the live-action version of The Jungle Book, is in charge of bringing Simba’s story to life. The Lion King will hit the theaters just in time for the 25th anniversary of the original – July 19, 2019.

]]>The announcement was made by SNL with a title card during the April 14 episode hosted by John Mulaney.
The Atlanta star has landed the gig as host of the skit show as well as its musical guest as he is also a rapper by the name of Childish Gambino.
This duo role doesn’t happen often and Glover joins the few who pulled double duty on the NBC late night comedy series. The short list includes Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Drake, Blake Shelton and Ariana Grande.
Glover worked in the past with the SNL alum, Tina Fey as a writer on her show 30 Rock. His most recent album as Childish Gambino was released in 2016 and earned two Grammy nominations.
You can see Glover next as Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story and as Simba in a new imagining of Disney’s The Lion King.

]]>After debuting in 2016, fans taste for another season has been insatiable. After a long wait due to Donald Glover’s portrayal of Lando Calrissian in Lucasfilm’s blockbuster hit Solo:A Star Wars Story, season two is finally ready to go and will premiere March 1st.
Another interesting reveal is that FX decided that the second season of the series will be titled Atlanta Robbin’ Season.
Executive producer Stephen Glover spoke to Variety at the cabler’s Television Critics Association press tour event about the upcoming 11 episode second season saying, “What we liked about Season 1, and what we got right, was we wanted to make it so each episode, you didn’t know what you were going to get. We wanted to keep people off-balance about what type of show it was, and we’re going to do more of that this season.”
Inspired by episodes of Tiny Toon Adventures’ “How I Spent My Summer Vacation” episodes, the second season will feature a very dangerous, uncertain time in the city. So everybody’s shaken up a little bit this year, and everybody has to make important decisions,” Stephen said and added that “Robbin’ Season is kind of like a metaphor for all of our characters.”

]]>The post Disney Drops Epic New Teaser For Live-Action Remake of “The Lion King” appeared first on OMG Check It Out !.

As the summertime sun blazes down and his favorite song plays through the headphones, the rapper casually checks out all the drama that takes place along the way.

The list of celebrity cameos in this video is pretty much endless. It includes everyone from A$AP Rocky and Solange to Drake and Pusha T. It’s a perfect way to wrap this summer up… By watching a full recap of the happenings in the music industry that took place in the last few months.

]]>The post “Saturday Night Live” Books Donald Glover as Host and Musical Guest appeared first on OMG Check It Out !.

]]>Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale and HBO’s Big Little Lies are tied for most wins with five awards each, followed by Saturday Night Live with four including Outstanding Variety Sketch Series. Veep took home the Outstanding Comedy Series award for third consecutive year, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus made Emmy history for winning the Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for sixth straight year in a row.
Donald Glover, the creator of FX series Atlanta, also made history as the first black director to win the award for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series and later in the night, he won his second Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.
Nicole Kidman, who earned her first Emmy, delivered a strong message about domestic abuse during her acceptance speech for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie.
“.. I want them to know that sometimes when you’re acting, you get a chance to bring a bigger message, and this is their contribution and your contribution,” she said. “We shone a light on domestic abuse. It is a complicated, insidious disease. It exists far more than we allow ourselves to know. It is filled with shame and secrecy and by you acknowledging me with this award, it shines a light on it even more. So thank you, thank you, thank you. I bow down to you.”
