The series stars Claes Bang as Count Dracula in the adaptation of Bram Stoker’s classic novel. The clip, which is accompanied by a “horror” warning label sure delivers with blood-spattered letters, a fly in an eyeball, loose fingernails, and Bang whispering to a victim: “Stay calm, you’re doing very well.”
Dracula will premiere on BBC One in the UK, followed by a Netflix release around the world.

]]>BBC and Netflix have revealed the first image of their Dracula reboot from Sherlock creators Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat.
Playing the role of the famous Count is Danish star Claes Bang.
The official description of the reimagining of the original Bram Stoker novel reads: “In Transylvania in 1897, the blood-drinking Count is drawing his plans against Victorian London. And be warned: the dead travel fast.”
Speaking of his role as the reinvented vampire, Claes said: “I am thrilled to be taking on the role of Dracula, especially when the script is in the hands of the incredible talents of Steven Moffat, Mark Gatiss and the team responsible for Sherlock. I’m so excited that I get to dig into this iconic and super-interesting character. Yes, he’s evil, but there’s also so much more to him, he’s charismatic, intelligent, witty and sexy. I realize that there’s a lot to live up to with all the amazing people that have played him over the years, but I feel so privileged to be taking on this incredible character.”
Also starring in the three-part series are Lyndsey Marshal, Chanel Cresswell, Matthew Beard, Lydia West, Paul Brennen, Sarah Niles, Sofia Oxenham, John McCrea, Phil Dunster, Millicent Wong, John Heffernan, Joanna Scanlan, Dolly Wells, Sacha Dhawan, Jonathan Aris, Morfydd Clark, and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett.

]]>Ryder and Reeves dropped a couple of bombshells while promoting their upcoming rom-com Destination Wedding. It’s not the first movie starring the two ‘90s superstar that includes a confusing wedding sequence. They did a similar thing while playing a young couple in Bram Stoker’s Dracula. As a matter of fact, their wedding in that movie was so realistic that Ryder believes they’ve been married for the last 25 years.
“We actually got married in Dracula. No, I swear to god I think we’re married in real life. In that scene, Francis [Ford Coppola] used a real Romanian priest. We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So I think we’re married.” said Winona Ryder in an interview she did alongside Reeves.
The actor played along and proclaimed “Oh my gosh, we’re married.” after his co-star reminded him of the whole thing. Her story sounds like a perfect rom-com we’d definitely want to see, but we’ll have to settle for Destination Wedding in the meantime. This tale of two misanthropic wedding guests who develop a special connection will premiere on August 31.
