Sheridan exited the show in March due to personal family matters. Back then she told TVLine, “Working on the Dynasty reboot and reprising the iconic role of Alexis has been thoroughly enjoyable, but the chance to spend precious time with my terminally ill mother is more important to me right now. I am hopeful that my fans will embrace my successor with as much passion as they embraced me.”
Gillies took to Twitter the morning after the reveal to see if Dynasty fans are willing to embrace her as the new Alexis and it seems that most are enthusiastic about the move.

]]>Nicolette Sheridan has will officially exit The CW’s reboot. Her exit follows the exits of series regulars Nathalie Kelley and James Mackay.
Sheridan first made her appearance as Alexis Carrington halfway through the first season. She stars as the ever-scheming Alexis Carrington, a role made iconic in the ABC original by Joan Collins. Her exit is expected next month.
“Nicollette Sheridan will be leaving DYNASTY in order to focus on some personal family responsibilities,” said CBS Television Studios and The CW in a joint statement. “She was a valuable asset to the show and we wish her continued success in the future.”
According to sources the role may be recast. Dynasty has been renewed for a third season at The CW. Her last appearance will be in March.

]]>The CW’s president Mark Pedowitz was the one who announced the amazing news. He believes this early renewal of the network’s signature shows gives them a head start on laying out the 2019-2020 season.
“These shows provide a strong foundation for our multiplatform programming strategy, and we look forward to building on this with even more returning and new shows as we approach the May upfront,” explained Pedowitz.
The CW recently expanded their primetime schedule to six nights a week, and Pedowitz described this move as unqualified success for the network, their affiliates and advertisers.
