The viewership data is in — the European Broadcasting Union published Tuesday that The Grand Final on 18 May 2019 achieved an average share of 36.7%, which was one percentage point higher than last year’s contest. 

The competition was also watched online by 40 million unique viewers from 225 territories via YouTube.

This year’s audience was younger — 45.3% of viewers were 15 to 24-year-olds – 2 percentage points higher than in 2018.

The Netherlands delivered its largest audience since 2014, who tuned in to what was to become the competitions winning song. Duncan Laurence took home the grand prize with the song “Arcade,” the first win for the Netherlands in 44 years. 

The biggest audience, for the ninth year in a row, was in Germany with 7.6 million viewers.
