]]>It has been confirmed that the film, which was due for domestic release in the studio’s Lionsgate Premiere banner, has been sold back to production company Emmett/Furla/Oasis.
Producers of the movie about the life of mobster John Gotti, head of the infamous Gambino family, will seek new distribution, which means a 2018 release is most likely.
Starring in the movie alongside Travolta is his wife, Kelly Preston as Victoria Gotti and Stacy Keach as Gotti’s mentor, Aniello Dellacroce. Lem Hobbs and Leo Rossi penned the script and Kevin Connolly directed. Connolly previously told EW of the film, saying: “there are nice cars and fancy suits in the movie, but we’re also showing where all that eventually leads,” adding that while HBO made a Gotti movie in 1996 it didn’t cover too much, and that there’s a “different angle that we’re going to explore.”
No details regarding the reason for the sale have been released.
