Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga were expected to win awards for their performances in this movie, but that never happened since Rami Malek and Glenn Close bested them in their respective categories.
The comedy categories were easier to predict, and Green Book took home to the main award of the night, while Christian Bale (Vice) and Olivia Colman (The Favourite) won the acting categories
When it comes to TV, the Golden Globe voters bid farewell to The Americans by awarding the last season of this show with a shiny trophy for best drama. The Kominsky Method won big in comedy categories, while American Crime Story proved to be the best miniseries of the year.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association stayed true to their tradition of honoring promising new shows in TV categories. The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story came on top with four nods, but Homecoming, Barry and The Kominsky Method followed with three nods. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel will try to replicate its Emmy success since it also received three nominations.
The 76th Golden Globe Awards will take place on January 6, 2019. Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg will take on the hosting duties, after proving they have an amazing chemistry at this year’s Emmy awards.

]]>This feel-good buddy dramedy tells the story of classical pianist Don Shirley (Mahershala Ali) and his driver Tony Lip (Viggo Mortensen), who accompanies him on a tour in the Deep South during the ‘60s.
This promising project will hit theaters on November 21, and its victory in Toronto is a huge deal. Winners of People’s Choice Award have been part of the Oscar race on numerous occasions in the past and even scooped Best Picture several times. 12 Years a Slave, The King’s Speech and Slumdog Millionaire are some of the films to score both awards.
People’s Choice Awards are voted on by TIFF attendees, who vote online or by placing their ticket stubs in a box at the theater. Green Book won them over this year, but it wasn’t the only movie they fell in love with. If Beale Street Could Talk by Barry Jenkins was the first runner-up, and it was followed by Alfonso Cuarón’s Roma.

]]>The Freddie Mercury biopic was the dark horse in the race for best drama film, but it ended up beating obvious favorites like A Star Is Born.

]]>Despite the fact that the domination of Vice took everyone by surprise, other top contenders were right behind. A Star Is Born, Green Book and The Favourite all received five nods, so it’s safe to expect an epic show-down between these films once the time comes.
