The post 2023 Grammy Awards: Harry Styles & Lizzo Win Album and Record of the Year, While Beyoncé Makes History appeared first on OMG Check It Out !.
]]>Beyoncé was the most-nominated artist at this year’s Grammys with nine nods, and she eventually walked away with four awards: best dance/electronic recording (“Break My Soul”), best dance/electronic album (Renaissance), best traditional R&B performance (“Plastic Off the Sofa”) and best R&B song (“Cuff It”).
Harry Styles had to beat tough competition, including Adele, Bad Bunny, and Lizzo, to win the album of the year with Harry’s House. Lizzo missed out on this award, but still had a reason to celebrate after winning record of the year with “About Damn Time”.
Bonnie Raitt delivered one of the night’s most shocking moments when she won song of the year with “Just Like That”. Another surprise came in the best new artist category, with the jazz singer Samara Joy defeating Måneskin, Anitta, and Latto to win this award.
The 65th Annual Grammy Awards were held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 5, with Trevor Noah hosting the festivities for the third time.

]]>From debuting new songs to bringing Shania Twain and Lizzo on stage, Harry Style gave us some of the festival’s best moments and he was definitely the king of Coachella. His performance was a great way to tease his upcoming album Harry’s House since it featured the first live performances of songs “As It Was”, “Boyfriends”, and “Late Night Talking”.
We can count on Eilish to knock it out of the park with each new live performance, and she took things to a whole new level at Coachella. She was also joined by a few special guests including Hayley Williams for a special rendition of Paramore’s hit song “Misery Business”.
Anitta didn’t join Coachella as one of the headliners, but that didn’t stop her from stealing the show. Snoop Dogg, Saweetie, and Diplo were some of the special guests who joined the Brazilian pop star on stage and helped her turn her set into a party to remember.

]]>Back in January, the video was filmed on a Malibu beach and it features Styles sitting oceanside surrounded by beautiful women and fruits while he sings, “Tastes like strawberries on a summer evenin’ / And it sounds just like a song / I want more berries and that summer feelin’ / It’s so wonderful and warm.” The second half of the video has Styles dancing atop a Pacific Ocean overlook and then jumping in the water.
The video is slightly reminiscent of Elton John’s 1983 video for “I’m Still Standing,” which was also set on a beach and Styles is seen wearing blue-tinted sunglasses which are a classic for Elton John.
The single debuted on Saturday Night Live back in November and it’s his fourth single from his second full-length album, The Fine Line which has sold 1.2 million units since it’s release in December. The single from the album, “Adore You,” reached No. 1 on the Top 40 and Hot AC radio formats, and earlier this month, “Watermelon Sugar” was certified platinum by RIAA.

]]>Alicia Keys will begin guest-hosting on December 9 and following her are Harry Styles, Melissa McCarthy, and Chance the Rapper. Ken Jeong and Jeff Goldblum are also set to host. Corden will be gone until December 18 and the full line-up has yet to be revealed.
Both McCarthy and Jeong have filled in for Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show and Styles actually previously hosted for Corden in December 2017.
Executive Producers Ben Winston and Rob Crabbe said, “We are of course going to miss James during these two weeks of shows. But it’s a great consolation that we have some of the biggest stars in the world to step into his shoes. We are really looking forward to these exciting, entertaining and ambitious weeks of shows.”

]]>According to multiple sources, the Dunkirk star is no longer in talks to play Prince Eric in Disney’s live-action Little Mermaid.
Variety reports that “the initial reports about his casting were premature” and that Styles passed on the role amicably.
The feature helmed by Rob Marshall stars Halle Bailey as Ariel, the mermaid princess who dreams of being a human, and Melissa McCarthy as villainous Ursula. It is written by David Magee will feature the original songs from the 1989 animated classic, as well as new songs from original composer Alan Menken with lyrics by Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda.

]]>Baz Luhrmann’s next film will focus on Elvis Presley’s early years, and its cast is already shaping up to be amazing. Tom Hanks has been cast as Colonel Tom Parker, the singer’s infamous manager who controlled every aspect of his life.
The lead actor is yet to be cast, but something tells us that the movie will be in safe hands. Ansel Elgort, Miles Teller, Austin Butler, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Harry Styles screen-tested for the role, and they all have a great track record behind them. All of the actors in the running have a singing background, but Luhrmann is yet to pick his favorite.
This won’t be his first time tackling this genre since he previously won an Oscar for the hit musical Moulin Rouge!

]]>The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute revealed Tuesday that this year’s event will be hosted by not two but a trio of co-hosts — Lady Gaga, Serena Williams and Harry Styles.
The institute also announced this year’s theme which is “Camp: Notes on Fashion.” The theme was inspired by the essay, Camp, which was published in 1964 by Susan Sontag. According to E! the essay describes the love of the unnatural: “of artifice and exaggeration… style at the expense of content… the triumph of the epicene style. The ambiguity of the theme is sure to inspire a fantastic variety of interpretations and styles.“
Every year A-listers and fashion powerhouses join forces to stun with theme-inspired ensembles. The annual event is hosted by Anna Wintour is one of the most celebrated red carpet events of the year.
