Janet Jackson took to Twitter on Wednesday to announce that her concert at Houston’s Toyota Center will proceed and has something special for the victims of Hurricane Harvey.

“Hey, you guys! I’m backstage in Louisiana and I’m at rehearsal about to kick off my tour and our next show is in Houston. I know that there have been rumors on whether we were gonna do the show in Houston,” the 51-year-old singer said in a video post. “I’m here to tell you that we are doing the show in Houston. But we’re gonna roll in early because we want to visit some of the shelters.”

“We also want to do something special for the victims,” she continued. “So I will see you Friday.”

Jackson will perform in 56 cities across North America from September to December as part of her State of the World concert tour. The show kicks off Thursday in Lafayette, Louisiana and will conclude in Atlanta, San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

According to ET, many artists decided to postpone their concerts after safety concerns arose prior to the hurricane. Jackson is one of many celebrities who have helped out victims following Harvey’s extreme flooding in Texas and the Gulf Coast. Stars such as Beyonce, Julia Roberts, and George Clooney will be participating in  Hurricane Harvey telethon on Sept. 12.

Many celebrities such as Beyoncé, actor Dwayne Johnson, comedian Kevin Hart, country singer Chris Young and NFL player J.J. Watt have donated to aid recovery efforts in Houston, Texas, in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, according to ET.

Beyoncé released a statement to Houston Chronicle, saying, “My heart goes out to my hometown, Houston, and I remain in constant prayer for those affected and for the rescuers who have been so brave and determined to do so much to help.”

“I am working closely with my team at BeyGOOD as well as my pastor to implement a plan to help as many as we can,” the 35-year-old singer added.

The Grammy winner also shared a photo on her Instagram page, writing, “Texas you are in my prayers.”

Kevin Hart posted a video on Instagram, introducing the Hurricane Harvey Relief Challenge and called some of his famous friends including Dwayne Johnson, to match his $25,000 donation. He captioned the post, “Help me help Houston.”

The Rock accepted Hart’s challenge, sharing a video in which he announced he had also donated $25,000 and encouraged others to donate “a buck or two.”

The actor said that relief efforts can unite the country “regardless of race and politics,” and describing the hurricane as “Mother Nature at her strongest wrath.”

“Stay strong Houston and hold onto faith. Me and my family know what you’re going thru. We survived the eye of Andrew and became stronger – so will you. All my love and strength. * Link in my bio in you can donate a buck or two to our Houston families in need,” Johnson captioned the video.

Chris Young pledged $100,000 and started a GoFundMe campaign for Harvey relief efforts.

“As everyone knows, Texas was hit Friday by Hurricane Harvey which made landfall as a category four hurricane, the largest storm to hit the area in decades. Port Aransas, Rockport, Corpus Christi, Houston and so many other places are going to be dealing with so much damage and loss of life for a long time to come. I’m worried about the people there — my friends, family and neighbors — and I want to help,” Young wrote on Instagram.

“I’m starting this GoFundMe campaign in an effort to help everyone in Texas that has been affected by this hurricane. I’m pledging $100,000 to relief efforts and hope you will join me (link in bio)”” he added.

NFL star J.J. Watt has been sharing videos on his Twitter page from Dallas, where he and his Houston Texans teammates were stranded ahead of a preseason game with the Cowboys on Thursday, providing updates on his fundraising efforts  which has already raised more than $1 million.
