]]> The rivalry between Coco Chanel and Christian Dior was one of the fiercest in fashion history, and they’re finally getting the Hollywood treatment. The first trailer for The New Look is here, and it sees Dior and Chanel trying to conquer the fashion world of World War II-era Paris.

According to Apple TV’s logline, this series is set against the backdrop of the Nazi occupation of Paris in World War II and “focuses on the pivotal moment in the 20th century when the French city led the world back to life through its fashion icon Christian Dior.”

In addition to chronicling Dior’s rise to prominence, The New Look also follows Coco Chanel on her journey to regain control after her reputation as the world’s most famous designer is put into jeopardy. This series will also explore the stories of Dior’s other rivals and contemporaries, starting with Pierre Balmain and Cristóbal Balenciaga.

Ben Mendelsohn and Juliette Binoche lead the show’s impressive cast, which also includes Maisie Williams, John Malkovich, Emily Mortimer, Claes Bang, Glenn Close, Hugo Becker, Thomas Poitevin, and Nuno Lopes.

The New Look will debut on Apple TV+ with three episodes on February 14, which will be followed by one episode every Wednesday through April 3.

]]> Robert Pattinson spent his post-Twilight years trying to wipe the slate clean and reinvent himself as a serious indie actor. We’ve just got another proof he’s succeeding thanks to the first trailer for inventive space drama High Life.

This intriguing project, directed by controversial French filmmaker Claire Denis, tells the tale of a group of criminals who are sent on an unusual mission in space. They believe their spaceship is headed towards a black hole to find an alternate energy source, but it turns out scientists on board have something different in mind.

High Life already had its world premiere during Toronto International Film Festival, where it received rave reviews. It was described as “a pensive and profound study of human life on the brink of the apocalypse” that completely reinvented sci-fi genre.

This mind-bending space odyssey also stars Juliette Binoche, Mia Goth and famous rapper André Benjamin. High Life will be orbiting film festival circuit until November 7, when it’s supposed to hit the theaters in France. American premiere is yet to be set.
