Lollapalooza is one of the year’s most anticipated festivals for a reason, and something tells us this year’s edition will live up to the hype. The lineup for Lollapalooza 2023 is finally here, and the list of headliners includes Billie Eilish, Lana Del Rey, and Kendrick Lamar.

The 1975, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Odesza, Tomorrow X Together, and Karol G round out the list of headliners for the upcoming edition of Lollapalooza. In addition to covering many different genres, this year’s lineup is pretty historic in terms of diversity.

Karol G, who recently hit No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 with Mañana Será Bonito—the first all-Spanish album by a woman to achieve this milestone—is the first female Latin artist to headline Lollapalooza. Tomorrow X Together (TXT) is also making history, as the first K-pop group to headline the iconic four-day festival.

Around 170 performers will hit the stage at Lollapalooza this year, including Carly Rae Jepsen, Rina Sawayama, Pusha T, Lil Yachty, 30 Seconds To Mars, Sabrina Carpenter, Diplo, Maggie Rogers, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, and Fred Again… The festival will take place across nine stages at Chicago’s Grant Park between August 3-6.

2022 has been a truly extraordinary year for music and the list of nominations for the upcoming Grammy Awards reflects that. Beyoncé topped the list of nominated artists with a total of nine nods and she’s closely followed by Kendrick Lamar with eight.

Beyoncé and Lamar are in the running for many of the same awards, including record, album, and song of the year. The list of nominees for album of the year also includes Adele’s 30, Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti, Lizzo’s Special, and Harry Styles’ Harry’s House, among others.

As for song and record of the year, many of the same artists managed to net nominations. Adele’s “Easy on Me”, Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul”, Harry Styles’ “As It Was”, Lizzo’s “About Damn Time”, and Kendrick Lamar’s “The Heart Part 5” are some of the tracks in the running for both awards.

In addition to Beyoncé and Lamar, the list of major nominees also includes Harry Styles, Adele, and Brandi Carlile with seven nods each. Mary J. Blige, Future, and record producer The-Dream are right behind with six nominations each.

The 65th Annual Grammy Awards will be held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 5, 2023. CBS and Paramount+ will be in charge of the live broadcast, and they’re yet to announce the host.

The MTV Video Music Awards are coming back to honor the best music videos of the past year in about a month, and the list of nominees is finally in. Lil Nas X, Jack Harlow, and Kendrick Lamar will be the main contenders at this year’s ceremony with seven nods each.

Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow are competing by each other’s side in most categories after collaborating on the chart-topping hit “Industry Baby”. This song is in the running for two of the night’s main categories – the video and song of the year.

“Industry Baby” has been nominated for the best collaboration, direction, art direction, choreography, and visual effects, as well. Lil Nas X and Harlow also scored individual nominations for the artist of the year, along with Lizzo, Harry Styles, Drake, and more.

As for Kendrick Lamar, he won’t be competing in any of the main categories, but that didn’t stop him from scoring seven nominations with songs “N95”, “The Heart Part 5”, and “Family Ties” featuring Baby Keem. The list of main contenders also includes Doja Cat and Harry Styles with six nominations, and Billie Eilish, Drake, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd with five each.

We can always count on Super Bowl halftime show headliners to rock our world with their act, but this year’s performers took things to a whole new level. Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J. Blige took the reins this year and brought old-school hip-hop to their epic performance.

Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg opened the halftime show with their collaboration “The Next Episode” and proceeded with the cover of 2Pac’s “California Love”. They were followed by a guest performer by 50 Cent, who got the crowd wild with the rendition of his smash hit “In Da Club”.

Things got even more amazing from there, and Mary J. Blige gave us one of the night’s most unforgettable moments while performing “Family Affair” and “No More Drama”. She was followed by Kendrick Lamar, who did a great job representing a new generation of hip-hop.

He joined Eminem for “Forgot About Dre” before leaving the stage and letting the fellow rapper deliver a show-stopping rendition of his hit song “Lose Yourself”. The halftime show ended with all five headliners performing a joint rendition of “Still D.R.E.”

The Super Bowl LVI was held on February 13th, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, with the Los Angeles Rams defeating the Cincinnati Bengals to win the title.

There are always a lot of rumors flying around about potential Super Bowl halftime show performers, but no one could’ve predicted what’s coming our way next year. The show’s lineup has been unveiled and it includes not one, not two, but five hip-hop superstars.

Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige will be in charge of headlining the upcoming Super Bowl LVI halftime show. Pepsi’s VP of marketing, Todd Kaplan, is describing the upcoming show as an epic, unforgettable celebration of the impact hip hop has today.

“The Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show has become a landmark cultural moment, bringing about some of the most iconic performances over the years… We are thrilled to bring together such an incredible array of talented, record-breaking musicians to put on a performance for the ages,” said Kaplan in a statement.

Pepsi and NFL assembled this lineup along with Jay-Z’s company Roc Nation and they’re describing the upcoming show as a larger-than-life performance of hits from the quintet’s collective catalog. For some of the artists, Super Bowl LVI hits close to home because it will be the first in nearly three decades to be held in the Los Angeles area. The Big Game will take place on February 13th, 2022 at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

Jay-Z is one of those people who’s really got it all – more than any rapper in the world, as a matter of fact. Forbes released their annual list of highest-paid hip-hop acts in the world, and Beyoncé’s hubby secured top stop, after earning $76.5 million over the course of past 12 months.

Jay-Z’s victory didn’t come as a surprise to anyone who’s closely following his career. This hit-maker had a pretty busy year and he spent most of the time on the road.

Fans couldn’t wait to hear his thirteenth studio album 4:44, especially after learning it’s response to Beyoncé’s Lemonade. About a year later, the couple dropped their joint-album Everything is Love and fans couldn’t get enough of it.

Their stadium tour On The Run II was a huge success, and Jay-Z’s side hustles brought in a lot of money, as well. He’s the founder of entertainment company Roc Nation and owner of music streaming service Tidal.

Jay-Z isn’t the only hip-hop star who struck it rich in the past year. Take a look at the full list of the world’s highest-paid hip-hop acts of 2018 and check if your favorites made the cut:

  1. Jay-Z ($76.5 million)
  2. Sean Combs ($64 million)
  3. Kendrick Lamar ($58 million)
  4. Drake ($47 million)
  5. J. Cole ($35.5 million)
  6. Nas ($35 million)
  7. Dr. Dre ($35 million)
  8. Pitbull ($32 million)
  9. Future ($30 million)
  10. Kanye West ($27.5 million)

The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards are taking place at New Jersey’s Prudential Center in Newark on August 28.
