]]>Instead of simply continuing Simon’s story, this series will focus on a new Creekwood High School student Victor, who’s on his “own journey of self-discovery, facing challenges at home, adjusting to a new city, and struggling with his sexual orientation”, according to show’s official logline.
Nick Robinson, who played Simon in the original movie, will return as narrator and producer of Disney+ series. The cast will also include Ana Ortiz and James Martinez as Victor’s parents, and Isabella Ferreira and Mateo Fernandez as his siblings.
Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, who co-wrote the original film, will return to executive produce Love, Simon series, and they had nothing but words of praise for the creative team behind this project.
“We have a phenomenal group of writers with tremendously personal connections to the material crafting our episodes, and have assembled a dream team cast and crew to bring these stories to life, and cannot wait to share what we’re working on with the world,” said the duo in a press release.

]]>The list of contenders for the best film includes some of the biggest box office hits of the year, such as Crazy Rich Asians and Deadpool 2. Some of the more underrated, but equally impressive projects received a nod in limited release category.
GLAAD president and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis believes these films, like hundreds of other nominees they recognized in the past, challenged misconceptions and inspired LGBTQ acceptance.
“The images and stories recognized by the GLAAD Media Awards over the past 30 years raised the bar for LGBTQ inclusion in the media industry and changed the hearts and minds of countless audience members around the world,” said Ellis.
