This series will be based on Rufi Thorpe’s upcoming book Margo’s Got Money Troubles, described as “a bold, laugh-out-loud funny, and heartwarming story about one young woman’s attempt to navigate adulthood, new motherhood, and her meager bank account in our increasingly online world.”

Fanning will star as Margo Millet, who suddenly gets pregnant after having an affair with the English professor at her junior college. Despite everyone’s advice, she decides to keep the baby and embarks on a wild journey to provide for her child the best way she knows how.

In addition to playing the lead role, Fanning will executive produce this project through Lewellen Pictures, alongside her sister Dakota Fanning, Nicole Kidman, David E. Kelley, Rufi Thorpe, Matthew Tinker, Checka Propper, Brittany Kahan Ward, and Per Saari, with A24 handling production.

Fanning most recently starred in Hulu’s alternative history series The Great, which earned her one Emmy and two Golden Globe nominations before being canceled last year. She’s also attached to several upcoming films, including the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown.
