]]>According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Pacific Rim star would play Martine Bancroft, who in the comics was engaged to Dr. Michael Morbius a scientist who suffered from a rare blood disease and turned himself into a living vampire while seeking a cure.
Daniel Espinosa is directing the Spider-Man Universe spinoff based on Marvel Comics’ antihero Morbius the Living Vampire. Dr. Michael Morbius first debuted in the 1970s The Amazing Spider-Man #101 issue. The renowned biochemist was created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane.
Espinosa is directing from a script written by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama, the duo behind Netflix’s Lost in Space remake. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are set to produce with Lucas Foster.

]]>The news of the renewal was announced by the network Friday.
The comic book drama still has two more episodes in its sophomore year. Originally planned as a ten-episode season, an additional episode was recently added, making it a total of eleven.
“Legion has redefined the superhero drama and exceeded all expectations as the intensity and revelation build through the second season,” said Eric Schrier, President of original programming. “We are incredibly proud of Noah Hawley’s achievement and are honored to continue the series as it pushes the boundaries of conventional television storytelling. We are also grateful for the contributions of our executive producers, John Cameron, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, and Jeph Loeb with Marvel Television, as well as our outstanding cast and crew of this groundbreaking show.”
Helmed by Noah Hawley, and based on the Marvel Comics by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz, the series follows David Haller, played by Dan Stevens, who believed himself to be schizophrenic only to discover that he may actually be the most powerful mutant the world has ever seen.
The series also stars Rachel Keller, Jean Smart, Jeremie Harris, Amber Midthunder, Bill Irwin, Aubrey Plaza, Jemaine Clement, Hamish Linklater, and Navid Negahban.
Legion Season 3 is currently slated to air in 2019.
