]]>“Marvel’s Daredevil will not return for a fourth season on Netflix,” representatives of Netflix told Deadline. “We are tremendously proud of the show’s last and final season, and although it’s painful for the fans, we feel it best to close this chapter on a high note.”
Still, the cancellation doesn’t mean we have seen Matt Murdock AKA Daredevil for the last time on television.
“While the series on Netflix has ended, the three existing seasons will remain on the service for years to come, while the Daredevil character will live on in future projects for Marvel,” the streaming service added.
This now leaves Jessica Jones and The Punisher as the last two remaining Marvel shows on Netflix. It won’t be a surprise if they get canceled in the near future, especially since Disney, who holds the right on Marvel, will launch their own streaming service, Disney+, in 2019.
Starring Charlie Cox as the eponymous character, Daredevil premiered on Netflix in 2015. The first season of the series received glowing reviews, a trend which continued with subsequent two seasons. Besides Cox, the series also starred Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Toby Leonard Moore, and Rosario Dawson among others.
