Fans of Beetlejuice have been hoping this film would return for a sequel for over three decades, and their prayers will soon be answered. Keaton is coming back as the titular hero, along with Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara as Lydia and Delia Deetz.

Burton shared the first look with the Entrainment Weekly and revealed that the new film kicks off with a death in the family. Charles Deetz (played by Jeffrey Jones) isn’t a part of the sequel cast, but Burton refused to say if his death brought the family together.

Burton admitted this project came together after Keaton agreed to return, and said it was “a weird out-of-body experience” to see him back in the iconic Beetlejuice costume.

“Unless it felt right, he had no burning desire to do it. I think we all felt the same way. It only made sense if it had an emotional hook… It was such a beautiful thing for me to see all the cast, but he, sort of like demon possession, just went right back into it,” he told Entrainment Weekly.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will come out on September 6, and its cast will also include Jenna Ortega, Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, and Willem Dafoe.

Director Andy Muschietti announced back in August that he has plans for Keaton in the movie, even though Ben Affleck, who portrayed Batman in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is also set to appear in the film. Back then, Keaton denied any rumors he’ll be a part of the DC movie. But not anymore. Entertainment Weekly was first to confirm that Keaton will indeed reprise his role.

Muschietti shared the film’s logo on Instagram earlier this week and confirmed that production has begun.

The Flash movie has been in development for quite some time—first being announced back in 2014—but is finally set to premiere on July 1, 2022. The film stars Ezra Miller alongside Sasha Calle who will star as Supergirl. Muschietti will direct from a script penned by Birds of Prey writer Christina Hodson.

Aaron Sorkin’s sophomore directorial effort is set to hit theaters on September 25, 2020, before opening wide on October 2, 2020. 

The film, which is inspired by real-life events, tells the events of the 1969 trial of the 7 defendants charged with conspiracy following the 1968 Democratic National Convention. 

Keaton and Hunt join previously announced Frank Langella, Mark Rylance, Eddie Redmayne, Sacha Baron Cohen, Jeremy Strong, Alex Sharp, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Kelvin Harrison Jr.

Per Variety, Keaton is set to play Ramsey Clark, the judge that oversaw the trial, and Hurt will play John Mitchell, the attorney general at the time.

The dark comedy helmed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa will tell the wild and true story of John McAfee, a tech entrepreneur’s who chose a life of exile in the jungles of Belize.

The script is penned by Golden Globe and Emmy winners Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be offered to buyers at the upcoming American Film Market.

The feature is based on Joshua Davis’ Wired magazine article “John McAfee’s Last Stand.” It will follow McAfee (Keaton), creator of the McAfee Antivirus software, who cashed-in his fortune, left civilization and moved to the jungle in Belize. There, he set-up a Colonel Kurtz-like compound of guns, sex, and madness. In the film, Wired magazine investigator Ari Furman (Rogen) accepts what he thinks is a run-of-the-mill assignment to interview McAfee, but once he arrives in Belize, he finds himself pulled into McAfee’s escalating paranoia, unhinged reality, and murder.

The film was first announced in 2017, with Johnny Depp originally attached to star.
