]]>Maleficent: Mistress of Evil picks up a few years after the first movie, and continues exploring the complex relationship between Maleficent and her beloved goddaughter. Despite her best attempts to change her nature, the horned fairy becomes too overprotective after Aurora’s engagement to Prince Phillip and does everything in her power to stop their union from happening.
Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning will return to their respective roles when this movie premieres on October 18th. They’ll be joined by Michelle Pfeiffer, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sam Riley, Harris Dickinson, Ed Skrein, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville in supporting roles.
The first Maleficent movie came out in 2014, and it was a huge success story for Disney. It earned $758 million worldwide and received praise for its visuals, costumes, musical score and Jolie’s portrayal of the iconic villain.

]]>The two Oscar-nominated actresses have joined the psychological drama about a retired doctor suffering from Alzheimer’s who gets entwined in a murder.
Rocket Science who is financing the project announced the news Friday. The production company will launch international sales at Cannes.
Gideon Raff is directing from a script adapted by Pulitzer Prize winner Doug Wright.
“‘Turn of Mind’ is an edge of your seat emotional thriller. A story of a warped friendship between two brilliant, sharp, forceful women who are bonded equally by their love for and jealousy of one other,” Raff said. “I am thrilled to have two legends filling these roles. What struck me most when reading LaPlante’s novel was how she rarely breaks from Jennifer’s (Bening) point of view. So, with her, we go through the visceral experience of a woman who relied her whole life on her gifted mind, only to find herself losing it when she needs it most.”

]]>This highly-anticipated sequel was supposed to premiere on May 29 next year, but Disney made a smart choice by bumping it up by seven whole months. It will premiere on October 18, just in time for Halloween – which is a perfect slot for this dark fantasy film.
According to the official synopsis, this exciting follow-up picks up several years after the first film, and further explores the complex relationship between the horned fairy and the soon to be Queen Aurora.
Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning will return to their respective roles in Mistress of Evil, and the later was pretty excited about their reunion. “It should be fun to re-visit a character many years later. That is something I’m very excited for. Also, being reunited with Angie is pretty cool. She’s just a powerhouse on set; the way that she works, she just has this power and respect around her,” said Fanning in an interview with Elle.

]]>The 38-year-old actress shared the photo on Twitter as part of a tribute post to late legendary comic book artist Jack Kirby, on his 100th birthday.
“I am honoured to be on set today playing #TheWasp on what would be Jack Kirby’s 100th birthday. #ThankYouJackKirby #AntManAndTheWasp,” Lilly wrote.
Kirby and Stan Lee created the character of Janet van Dyne, who was the original Wasp in the early 1960’s. Lilly plays Hope van Dyne, Janet’s daughter with Hank Pym (Michael Douglas). Pym was the original Ant-Man before retiring, and later training Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) as his replacement in Ant-Man, according to ET.
Marvel Studios announced that Michelle Pfeiffer will play the role of Pym’s long-lost wife Janet van Dyne during the San Diego Comic-Con last month.
The sequel also stars Walton Goggins, Hannah John-Kamen, Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Bill Foster and Randall Park as Jimmy Woo. Directed by Peyton Reed, the superhero movie flies into theatres on July 6, 2018, Deadline reports.
