Director and writer of the film, Rian Johnson introduced the film’s world premiere from LA with an homage to its lost princess saying, “Let’s all have a blast tonight for Carrie.”

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is predicted to smash the box office. Many celebrity guests arrived at the Shrine Auditorium, to celebrate the latest outing for this hugely successful movie franchise. The film is the second in a new trilogy of Star Wars films, following The Force Awakens in 2015.

Among the celebrity guests in attendance at the European premiere were Prince William and Price Harry. The two arrived at Royal Albert Hall in London on Tuesday. In November, star of the film, John Bodega who plays stormtrooper-turned-resistance-fighter Finn, confirmed that the two royals both have cameos in the film as stormtroppers.

The 42-year-old actress hit the red carpet Friday night with two very special young ladies, her daughters Shiloh Jolie-Pitt and Zahara Jolie-Pitt. The mother-daughters trio looked absolutely adorable posing for photographers at the TCL Chinese 6 Theaters in Los Angeles.

This premiere of animated film The Breadwinner was quite special for Zahara and Shiloh, as their mom served as a producer on the film. The Breadwinner tells the story of a young girl in Afghanistan who disguises herself as a boy in order to provide for her family.

Friday wasn’t the two’s first red carpet, as all of Jolie’s children accompanied her on her press tour for First They Killed My Father. However, the sweet trio could not have looked happier posing together and spearing smiles everywhere.

Even after nine films as Wolverine, playing the godfather of the modern circus was a definite challenge for Hugh Jackman. The movie is set in the mid-1800s and tells the life story of P.T. Barnum rise from childhood poverty to his successful launch of a New York circus.

The movie starring Michelle Williams as Barnum’s wife charity, was supposed to be a biopic, however, that changed as it was decided that song and dance numbers will be added to the film. That’s essentially how the biographical movie, turned into a musical. In charge of the sound are La La Land’s Oscar winning songwriters Benj Hasek and Justin Paul.

Jackman was somewhat surprised at the amount of action that took place on the set of The Greatest Showman. The re-creation of the iconic circus also stars Zendaya as a trapeze artist. After training for months, Zendaya perfected her skills to a point that Jackman was completely wowed by her.

“Before I went up [in the trapeze] he goes, ‘Zendaya, you’re a badass,'” she says. “How many people have Hugh say, ‘You’re a badass’? Nobody gets that!”

The Greatest Showman opens in theaters on Christmas Day.

The film centers on 40-year-old Alice who is a mother of two, trying to make things work after a broken up marriage. Somehow she finds herself boarding three aspiring filmmaker brothers in her guesthouse. Meyers told EW that the three brothers together kind of represent the perfect man, when a relationship lights up between Alice and one of the brothers in his late 20s. This particular situation of an older divorcée taking in three young men into her home, was actually born from reality. “When a friend of mine was growing up in L.A. her mother took in these three guys,” says Meyers-Shyer.

Interestingly, the romantic fling part of the movie isn’t the crux of the story. Witherspoon tells EW that while there’s definite romance in the movie, “[i]t’s not about a woman finding love; it’s about a woman finding the best version of herself — and that’s very modern.”

The film’s opening with $35 million means that it has topped holdovers such as Dunkirk, which is holding steady in second place with an estimated $11.4 million after 4 weeks in theaters.

Directed by David F. Sandberg, the movie tells the story of a grieving doll maker and his wife, both with a haunted past. The couple welcome into their home a nun and several children from a run down orphanage. Currently, reviews from audiences and critics are mixed with a 68% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Coming in third is the computer-animated comedy, The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature with an estimated $8.9 million over the weekend. While the figure is good enough for third place, it doesn’t look like the film will re-create the original’s success, which opened with $19.4 million in 2014.

This is the first time Clooney did not take a role in a movie he directed; he said to Entertainment Weekly that it was a relief, and the he’s “happy to just be able to sit on the sidelines and let other people do the acting.”

Joel and Ethan Coen first worked with Clooney on Brother, Were Art Thou? This is when they approached him about staring in Suburbicon as an insurance investigator, but the project ended up not happening. However, it was only in 2014 when the Ocean’s Eleven star was looking for a new project, that he thought of collaborating with the brothers on Suburbicon. The role that was offered to him of a suspicious investigator will be portrayed by Oscar Issac.

The film will premiere at the Venice Film Festival, and will be released in cinemas across the US on November 3.
