The members of the National Board of Review have spoken and they’ve unveiled their list of the best films for 2023. Killers of the Flower Moon will be honored with four awards at the upcoming ceremony, including best film.

Martin Scorsese’s historical epic was named one of the top ten films of 2023 by this organization, alongside Barbie, The Boy and the Heron, Ferrari, The Holdovers, The Iron Claw, Maestro, Oppenheimer, Past Lives, and Poor Things. It eventually picked up the award for the best film, in addition to three more.

Its leading lady Lily Gladstone won the award for the best actress, cementing her status as the Oscar front-runner. She was joined by Paul Giamatti (best actor for The Holdovers), Mark Ruffalo (best supporting actor for Poor Things), and Da’Vine Joy Randolph (best supporting actress for The Holdovers).

Martin Scorsese will receive the award for directing this film at the upcoming gala, while Rodrigo Prieto will be honored for his work as a cinematographer of both Flower Moon and Barbie.
