Robinne Lee was originally inspired to write the original novel while exploring the media’s fascination with Harry Styles and his boy band One Direction during the 2010s. Even though Galitzine’s character was loosely based on Styles, her main goal was to write a story about a woman rediscovering herself while approaching her 40s.

The Idea of You will have its world premiere at South by Southwest on March 16 as its closing film, before heading to Amazon Prime Video on May 2.
