When fashion reality competition series Project Runway returns for season 17, it might not be the same show you’ve been watching and loving. Supermodel Heidi Klum, who served as the host and a judge on this reality show since it premiered in 2004, and Tim Gunn, who served as a mentor for the competitors, recently announced that they are both leaving Project Runway.

But don’t worry, the duo will be back soon on television. According to Klum, both she and Gunn will partner with Amazon for a new fashion show which will be available on their streaming service Prime Video.

“After 16 incredible seasons, I am saying ‘Auf Wiedersehen’ to Project Runway, a show that I was honored to host and help create,” – Klum said in a statement. “I am incredibly proud of the show, and it will always have a special place in my heart. I am so appreciative of the dedicated fans, and most of all, I am grateful that we could shine a light on creativity and help launch so many talented designers’ careers. I’m most excited that my journey with my dear friend and colleague, Tim Gunn, is far from over. We will be partnering with Amazon for a new show, and we’re excited for everyone to see what we’re designing next!”

While the details about their new project are still mostly unknown, Amazon did offer a few hints about the show’s possible format.

“The series will be a fresh take in the reality space and will appeal to a global audience who are entertained by competition, storytelling, and authenticity,” Amazon said in a press release. “Additionally, Amazon Fashion will create a shoppable experience for viewers. This intersection of content, commerce, and technology is perfectly suited to the cord cutter generation and streaming consumers.”

With Klum and Gunn moving on to new challenges, Bravo is still tinkering what to do with Project Runway. The network has announced that the search for a new host and mentor is underway, but there is no news when the audience should expect the season 17.

Project Runway is returning home to Bravo, its original network. The switch comes after almost a decade that the reality TV competition made Lifetime its home.

The news was confirmed by Andy Cohen on Monday during the 2018-19 NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment Upfront presentation.

Project Runway is coming back where it all started,” he said on stage. “It’s coming home on Bravo.”

“We are beyond excited to reboot Project Runway at the network where it all began,” Frances Berwick, President of Lifestyle Networks, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, said in a statement. “Leaning into the creative process in an entertaining way has always been part of Bravo’s DNA, and Project Runway perfectly captures that. This franchise will be an important cornerstone to complement Bravo’s original premium scripted and unscripted slate, and we expect it to drive the same level of fan-dom and passion as we experienced last time it was on Bravo.”

The show made its debut in 2004 and has since been looking for the brightest most promising fashion designers. It aired on Bravo for five years but due to a license fee dispute, it homes itself a new home.

The show is hosted by Heidi Klum and features Tim Gunn as the mentor. The panel of judges is helmed by Klum as well as Nina Garcia and Zac Posen.

Auf Wiedersehen Lifetime, hello Bravo!
