It has been announced and confirmed that the iconic rock group is set to reunite in 2020, after not having played together since their 2011 LA Rising show at the Los Angeles Coliseum.

The short tour was announced by the band via social media on Friday. The announcement was then confirmed by Wayne Kamemoto who simply said “The band’s social media is accurate” and the band itself, which later tweeted “Yes… it’s true… 2020 .”

The quick run includes five shows. The dates announced thus far are El Paso on March 26, Las Cruces on March 28 and Phoenix on the 30th, followed by two shots in Indio on April 10 and 17.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has revealed its shortlist of nominees for 2019 on Tuesday. A total of fourteen artists and bands have been nominated.

The list includes first time nominees like Def Leppard and Roxy Music as well as returning nominees including Janet Jackson, Radiohead, and Rage Against the Machine. The rapper LL Cool J was nominated for the fifth time and if chosen he will be the seventh hip-hip artist inducted.

Artists become eligible for nomination 25 years after the release of their first recording. An international voting body composed of artists, historians, and music industry personas considers “an artist’s musical influence on other artists, length and depth of career and the body of work, innovation, and superiority in style and technique.” According to the Rock & Hall Fame website, “the top five artists, as selected by the public, will comprise a ‘fans’ ballot’ that will be tallied along with the other ballots to choose the 2019 inductee.”
