Deadline reports that a reboot of The Facts of Life is in early stages of development. Helming the gestating project are Sony Pictures TV with Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson’s Appian Way who’s currently in negotiations to produce alongside Jessica Biel via her Iron Ocean Films.

The Facts of Life, in itself a spinoff that ran for nine seasons on NBC. The series followed a group of girls at a boarding school who were looked after Mrs. Garrett (Charlotte Rae). The series delved deep into issues that teenage girls face such as drug use, sex, eating disorders and peer pressure. The cast also included Kim Fields, Mindy Cohn, Cloris Leachman, Lisa Whelchel, Nancy McKeon and at various points Molly Ringwald, George Clooney and even Pamela Adlon.

The Facts of Life was nominated for three Emmys during its run.
