While Marvel declined to comment on the casting, Variety reports that Madden is set to play the Eternal, Ikaris.

The feature adaptation of Jack Kirby’s 1976 comic is directed by Chloe Zhao from a script by Matthew and Ryan Firpo. Marvel Studios’ chief Kevin Feige is producing.

Madden is best known for his role as Robb Stark on HBO’s Game of Thrones and Netflix’s Bodyguard.

Richard Madden, star of Bodyguard, confirms that discussions are underway for an additional season. Madden told Mail Online that he’s in talks to bring back the limited series currently available to stream on Netflix.

“I’m having a conversation with him [series creator Jed Mercurio] in about ten days or something when I’m back in the country, and we are just going to chat through some ideas,” he told the outlet. “We never intended to make another one and I don’t know, I’m excited to see what he’s got, especially because [the character] David [Budd] had quite a busy couple of months. So what do we do with him next?”

“[David] probably needs a break,” he added. “But him, on the beach with a pina colada, I don’t think people are going to watch that as much. Less anxiety though, I would like less anxiety.”

The drama centers on a troubled army veteran, David Budd (Madden), assigned to protect the Home Secretary, Julia Montague (Keeley Hawes). According to Entertainment Tonight, the six-part thriller aired to record-breaking ratings on the BBC. According to the outlet, it peaked at more than 10 million viewers for the series finale in the UK.

Bodyguard is currently streaming on Netflix.
