]]>A rep for HBO confirmed the shutdown in a statement. “Due to nearby wildfires, Westworld stopped production earlier today and will resume filming as soon as it’s safe to do so.”
According to ET, thousands of Southern Californians have fled their homes as a huge fire spread through part of Ventura County. The fire, which grown to 50,000 acres by Tuesday afternoon, was mainly fueled by strong Santa Ana winds and expected to last until Thursday.
Westworld actor Jeffrey Wright posted on social media about the fires on Tuesday.
“Got an unexpected and unfortunate day off owing to the #CreekFire & #RyeFire,” he tweeted. “Be safe, folks.”

Evan Rachel Wood also took to Instagram about the smoky status of Santa Clarita, California, where the show is filmed.
The western thriller isn’t the only series that has shut down due to fires. Production on CBS’s S.W.A.T. has also been temporarily suspended.

]]>The network just gave a full season order Friday to S.W.A.T, its new drama series starring Shemar Moore. The network ordered seven more episodes, bringing the series’ total to 20 episodes.
The update of the remake stars Stephanie Sigman, Alex Russell, Jay Harrington, Lina Esco, Kenny Johnson, Peter Onorati, and David Lim. So far the series hasn’t been a breakout but has held up its own, averaging 10.36 million viewers.
S.W.A.T. joins SEAL Team and The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon in getting the full-season nod.
CBS also made a back order on Mark Feuerstein’s multi-camera comedy series 9JKL, that has been a comparatively soft performer for the network.
