The streaming service has handed out a second-season for the scripted drama about the pioneer and occultist Jack Parsons. 

The seriesת based on the biography Strange Angel: The Otherworldly Life of Rocket Scientist John Whiteside Parsons, stars Jack Reynor as Parsons. The first season also starred Rupert Friend, Bella Heathcote, Peter Mark Kendall, Michael Gaston, Greg Wise, Rade Šerbedžija, Zack Pearlman and Keye Chen.

“We look forward to exploring the next chapter of Jack Parsons’ journey,” said Julie McNamara, executive vice president, original content, CBS All Access. “Strange Angel and its talented cast and crew are the epitome of the type of programming we strive for at CBS All Access — daring, imaginative and unconventional.”

Season one launched in June and wrapped its season in August. It’s the latest scripted original to earn a second season at CBS All Access.

The TV singing competition American Idol will return for a second season on ABC. The news was announced by the network on Friday. It has also been confirmed that judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie and host Ryan Seacrest will return to the show’s upcoming season. 

“I am thrilled that Katy, Luke, Lionel and Ryan will be back to once again embark on this Idol journey with us to discover the next crop of inspiring talent,” said Channing Dungey, president, ABC Entertainment, in a statement to Entertainment Tonight.

This isn’t the show’s first run of course. It first debuted in 2002 and went on for a 15 season run on Fox while this year’s revival found a new home on ABC. The revival brought with it some changes compared to the show’s original run, particularly with the network doing away with bad auditions as the center of the show. “We want the humor, but we don’t want the exploitation,” series executive producer Trish Kinane said.

Looks like Idol is here to stay.
