]]> Friends may be leaving Netflix in the nearby future, but that doesn’t mean its subscribers will be out of legendary sitcoms to watch. The streaming giant just landed global streaming rights for Seinfeld, starting in 2021.

Seinfeld is currently streaming at Hulu in the US and on Amazon in a number of other territories, but those days are soon to be over. Ted Sarandos, chief content officer for Netflix, released an official statement saying they’re ready to present this iconic sitcom to their audience.

“Seinfeld is the television comedy that all television comedy is measured against. It is as fresh and funny as ever and will be available to the world in 4K for the first time. We can’t wait to welcome Jerry, Elaine, George, and Kramer to their new global home on Netflix,” said Sarandos.

Seinfeld premiered on NBC in 1989 and stayed on the air for nine seasons. It transformed its creator Larry David and actors Jerry Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jason Alexander, and Michael Richards into global superstars, and it’s still regarded as one of the best sitcoms of all time.
