Directed by Hannah Lux Davis, the “Puntería” music video takes us to a pastel-colored mystical realm. Emily in Paris star Lucien Laviscount joins Shakira as her love interest in this magical visual, which also sees her showing off her amazing dance moves with a group of backup dancers.
Cardi B wanted to collaborate with Shakira for as long as she can remember, and she was ready to do whatever the Colombian singer asked her to appear in a music video by her side.
“I always look at your videos, and it’s so crazy doing a video with you because all of your videos, you could just tell you take your time from the angle, to the dancing, to the things that pop,” Cardi B told Shakira in an interview they shared on social media.
“Puntería” was released as the latest single from Shakira’s new album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, which also features smash hits “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53” and “TQG” ft. Karol G.
Karol G faced tough competition for the night’s main award, where the list of contenders also included Vida Cotidiana by Juanes and Play by Ricky Martin. She managed to defeat them and pick up the award for album of the year with Mañana Será Bonito, along with best urban music album and best urban fusion/performance with “TQG” ft. Shakira.
It was also a big night for Shakira, who also walked away with three accolades. In addition to sharing the award for the best urban fusion/performance with Karol G, she also collected the award for song of the year with the viral hit “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53”. She made history as the first artist to receive three simultaneous nods in this category because “TQG” and “Acróstico” also made the cut.
Her collaborator Bzrp also walked away with three awards, and so did Natalia Lafourcade, who defeated the likes of Shakira, Karol G, Rosalia, and Christina Aguilera to collect the record of the year award with “De Todas las Flores”.
The Latin Grammy Awards took place on November 16 at the FIBES Conference and Exhibition Centre in Seville, Spain.

The Colombian singer will make history as the first South American artist to be honored with the Video Vanguard Award, and she has some big shoes to fill! The list of most recent recipients of this honorary award includes Nicki Minaj, Missy Elliott, and Jennifer Lopez.
The Video Vanguard Award is meant to honor artists who had a profound impact on the music industry. Shakira fits this description perfectly, according to Bruce Gillmer, president of music, music talent, programming & events at Paramount.
“She’s a trailblazer for women around the world & one of the first artists to lead the globalization of Latin music. Her massive impact across the musical landscape will be long-lasting as she continues to create and entertain at the highest level,” said Gillmer in a statement.
The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards will take place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on September 12. Taylor Swift topped the list of nominees with eight nods, followed by SZA, Doja Cat, Kim Petras, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo, and Sam Smith.

Colombian stars Shakira and J Balvin led the nominations with 12, followed by Luis Fonso, Daddy Yankee, Maluma and Ozuma with 10. Beyonce, Justin Bieber, and French DJ Willy William got several nods as well.
Beyonce’s involvement in the remix of Balvin and William’s “Me Gente” earned her seven nominations, while Bieber’s collaboration with Yankee and Fonsi on the re-mix of their massive hit “Despacito” got him eight nods.
It was the year of “Despacito,” winning six awards including Song of the Year and Latin pop song of the year.
